Red Rome is an old time favorite for cooking, baking, cider and drying. Rome is a medium to large size apple, with all red skin, and very firm, hard, white flesh. It ripens late in the season.

Red Rome is an easy tree to grow and maintain. It is a little less vigorous than most trees. The tree is rather "weepy" and drooping and has a distinct look to it that many other varieties don't have. Red Rome blooms late in the season, so is a great one for a frosty location.
